Summer Dental Health Pt. 2

Ice Cube Tray

Having a party or event with friends and family is popular during the summer months. If you do find yourself hosting a party, the last thing you probably think about is keeping your guest’s teeth and gums healthy. However, there are plenty of easy ways to make sure everyone has fun and keeps their mouth healthy.

Avoid Toothpicks

Toothpicks are popular, but they can easily poke your gums or even break in your mouth. A good alternative to toothpicks are dental picks.

Ice

Chewing on ice is an awful habit that can do a lot of damage to your teeth. One way to avoid a dental emergency from chewing on ice is to break up the ice into small pieces. You can also fill a cooler with ice to keep drinks cold.

Stay Hydrated

Water is the best drink for keeping a clean mouth and quenching your thirst, and it’s especially important when you’re outdoors in the heat.

Snacks

Skip the chips and sugary foods and replace it with a healthy assortment of vegetables and fruits. There are plenty of fruits and vegetables that are not only good for your overall health but are also good for our dental health.

If you’re in need of a dental check-up or have any concerns about the health of your mouth, we welcome you to schedule an appointment with Dr. Gradeless in Fishers, IN today.
